Thank you so much for creating something for me! I've included prompts in case they're helpful—I have more for some fandoms than for others, but that's just because of what I could think up or because of how many different relationships/mediums I was requesting; I'd be delighted to receive anything for any of these requests and am already so excited to open my gift box. <3

I have gifts enabled, and treats are very welcome!

I'm [archiveofourown.org profile] scioscribe on AO3 and [tumblr.com profile] scioscribe on Tumblr.

Biggles Series - W. E. Johns

Length Opt-In: 500 minimum words per fic

Fandom-specific DNWs: Period- or canon-typical racism. For stories with von Stalhein, I don't want WWII settings or any mention of Hitler or Nazis. If there's Ginger/Algy, I would prefer Ginger to be 18+.

Algy Lacey & Erich von Stalhein
Algy Lacey & James "Biggles" Biggleworth/Erich von Stalhein

* Post-Hatchet, Algy is reluctantly won over—at least a little bit—by von Stalhein doing something selfless or caretaker-y for Biggles? In general, I have a huge weakness for Algy gradually and much to his consternation deciding that von Stalhein at least passes the "is indeed thoroughly devoted to Biggles" test, especially if von Stalhein gets whumped in the process.

* Sort of a branch of the above—Biggles, Bertie, and Ginger are in danger, and Algy and von Stalhein have to work together to rescue them. Or maybe they're seriously injured, while Algy and von Stalhein are relatively unscathed? I would love to see them having to share some caretaking duties, particularly if they're getting exhausted and gradually in worse and worse shape themselves in the process. Give me all the "lost in the desert and splitting their water supply predominantly between the sick/hurt members of the party and then bickering over which of them should take the first drink" and "neither of us is getting enough sleep because we need to stand guard in shifts, also: I hate you, also: use my jacket as a pillow" and anything else in that vein.

* Post-Hatchet, Algy and EvS have to go undercover together for some reason, maybe with Algy posing as handler for their defector spy? Forced proximity through mutual danger produces ample irritation but also some understanding and respect and potentially even reluctant liking? Do they wind up getting protective of each other?

* A freak mystical accident/understood but rare phenomenon/science experiment leaves Algy and von Stalhein with the world's most unwanted soulbond. Suddenly they have a window into each other's emotions and inner selves, whether they like it or not, and a prickly warming-up begins even as they work to get this undone immediately. (If you want to include ships, I'm also all for Algy being able to sense von Stalhein being in love with Biggles and/or von Stalhein sensing Algy being in love with Ginger.)

* The two of them are captured or stranded together and have to help each other survive/endure/escape?

* Post-Hatchet: the first time Algy discovers to his horror that he accidentally just had an enjoyable solo interaction with von Stalhein. Maybe they stumble across a shared interest that no one else they know is into, like a semi-obscure novel or historical period, and get to talking about it while everyone else watches with a combination of fond amusement and incredulity?

James "Biggles" Bigglesworth & Ginger Hebblethwaite & Algy Lacey & Bertie Lissie & Erich von Stalhein

* I love team-fic and just getting to see the ensemble in action and working together, in either a whole canon-typical adventure or just a sliver of one—either would be fantastic. I love competence porn, teamwork, mutual trust and loyalty, humor, and everyone getting a chance to demonstrate their particular skills. Anything in that vein would thoroughly delight me.

* This is such a great group for AUs or sudden, wild changes of setting or genre, so if you want to send them all to the future and let them fly spaceships, send them all to the past and have them fight and/or tame dinosaurs, reimagine them as a pack of werewolves in an urban fantasy world, give them all superpowers, have them investigate haunted houses … GO FOR IT.

* I love any situation where one of them is in serious peril and the others all have to rally around for a rescue or even just to fret about what's happened. Johns loves presumed dead, and so do I, so if you want to have literally any of them presumed dead and all the others stunned and dealing with grief before they're incredibly relieved, that would be great. Also, any kind of hurt/comfort with any of them as the hurt party! I just want love to see them taking care of each other.

* I really love everything with von Stalhein gradually becoming part of the team in his own right instead of just Biggles's favorite German spy. Maybe he works with the others to rescue an imperiled Biggles? Whumping him in the process is definitely encouraged. The usual team is all captured, and he gets extremely battered and exhausted in the process of rescuing them and then gets some TLC?

* I'd love to see Algy, Ginger, and/or Bertie getting defensive of von Stalhein in a post-Hatchet/Looks Back. Maybe he's getting flak from British Intelligence officers or they all run afoul of some of his former Soviet handlers. Maybe they're just on a mission together and they wind up covering, protecting, or rescuing him. (For this prompt, it's okay if Biggles only appears in spirit.)

Algy Lacey/Ginger Hebblethwaite

* Established relationship sex under various hot-sweet-funny domestic contexts, like sleepy sex, morning sex, sex when one of them is in a bad temper over being injured (and maybe has more limited pain-free movement than usual), first time back together again after having been separated for a while, etc.

* Algy is trying to bottle up his feelings, which works until Ginger gets hurt protecting or rescuing him, whereupon he can't handle Ginger having gotten hurt/almost died on his account. See also: Ginger having no idea why Algy is so upset about this and then figuring it out and being delighted. I also love the idea of physically hurt Ginger being very tender with severely emotionally rattled Algy because he can see that Algy is far more shaken up than he is.

* Any tender hurt/comfort, either as the tipping point of their relationship, a catalyst for one of them realizing or finally acknowledging feelings, or just something loving set after they're already together.

* A first kiss. Does it escalate from mutual teasing, sort of friendly, plausibly deniable daring that then turns magnificently, openly real? Is it an "I'm so glad you're still alive" kiss?

* One of them ropes Biggles and/or Bertie into helping him choose a birthday gift or small anniversary token for the other, especially if it's the first such occasion since they've gotten together and it hasn't yet become 100% clear how explicitly romantic they're going to be.

* Drunken confessions of feelings! Before they ever hook up? After they've been hooking up for a while but haven't decided what it all means?

* Anything where they've been together for years but are still thoroughly besotted with each other—just all kinds of mutual enjoyment, mutual attraction, warmth, etc.

* Algy surprises Ginger by renting out a private screening room for their own private picture show. Not all the films get watched with 100% attention.

* What if they had a brief relationship sometime earlier in canon but wound up breaking up or, if it was mostly casual, deciding to call things off before they got serious? I'm really curious what they would look like with an additional dramatic charge of exes-getting-back-together. Does it make one or both of them wary about starting things up again? Why did they break up? (I like the idea of it being for self-sabotaging reasons, like Algy thinking Ginger shouldn't be tied down so young or one of them calling it quits because he knows he's in love and he doesn't want the heartache of it not being reciprocated.) What could be the catalyst for them getting back together again? What's it like to live and work with someone you love that you used to be with but aren't anymore (yet)?

* One of them is in an unusually foul mood for whatever reason, and the other goes to considerable effort to make him feel better—efforts eventually rewarded with a blowjob, perhaps?

James "Biggles" Bigglesworth & Erich von Stalhein
James "Biggles" Bigglesworth/Erich von Stalhein

* It's revealed that von Stalhein has covertly foiled plots against Biggles/long-distance saved his life before, even when they were still working on opposite sides. Maybe we actually see a canon-typical adventure where von Stalhein intervenes, or maybe the truth only comes out sometime after Hatchet or Looks Back. If Biggles finds out, what does he do? How does von Stalhein react to Biggles having such concrete evidence of how much von Stalhein has—for years!--cared for him?

* Similarly, von Stalhein protecting or rescuing Biggles even in the era while they're still enemies: I'm very into it. What happens if he finds a very injured Biggles who needs help?

* In some perilous situation when it's extremely clear that he's about to die, von Stalhein--as behooves someone as naturally dramatic as he is--admits his feelings to Biggles. (Maybe when he's not even able to see Biggles's reaction?) Fortunately/unfortunately, he lives, and Biggles has to sort things out before a severely embarrassed von Stalhein can disappear on him.

* Time loops! Maybe von Stalhein is trapped in one, and he has to turn to Biggles and Co. for help because Biggles is one of the few people who will a) believe him and b) treat this as a totally solvable problem? Does he initially think the loop will finally let him get the edge on Biggles in some case, but soon discover that victory over Biggles—especially if Biggles dies in the process—isn't actually what he wants at all? Does he let himself try out defection or sleeping with Biggles in any of the loops, or does he deliberately keep himself from it because it would feel too real? Is the whole time loop about fixing Biggles's death?

* Post-Looks Back Biggles/EvS, where they only begin a relationship once they're older. Bittersweetness, tenderness? Lots of sex because they want to make up for lost time? I'd love to see characterization- and romance-via-porn—things like kink discovery, their first time in general, or first times like "first time having sex after Biggles returns from a mission battered and bruised" or "first time having sex in the morning after one of them actually slept over the night before." I just love seeing them exquisitely gone on each other.

* After years of resisting Biggles's advice, von Stalhein finds it satisfying to just let go and trust him to take the lead on occasion, either in the field or in bed. And for Biggles, it's exhilarating to have such obvious evidence that von Stalhein trusts him and will actually follow his lead …. I seriously love them both enjoying a kind of mutual loyalty kink, whether that's in a gen or a shippy (and potentially kinky) sense.

* Post-Sakhalin, Biggles works on convincing von Stalhein that things don't have to get actively hellish before he can ask for, get, or deserve help. Give me von Stalhein trying to power through illness or exhaustion and Biggles putting his foot down.

* Outsider POV on their relationship from, say, a regular server of theirs at the restaurant they habitually go to.

* Temporary time travel where post-Hatchet/Looks Back von Stalhein suddenly wakes up in Zabala right when Brunow is about to arrive. I'd love to see him interacting with young Biggles—and probably having it strike him just how young Biggles is—and trying to decide what to do and where his loyalties are now that his personal and professional impulses are so sharply divided. (Is he in a relationship with Biggles in the present day?) I do want him to get back to his own time and his own Biggles at the end, but I'd love to see him visit and change things for the better for a different timeline's von Stalhein. Does he leave himself a note?

* Pre-Hatchet, von Stalhein is haunted by something that looks like Biggles but isn't—an incubus? Some kind of manifestation of his own complicated feelings of longing and resentment? Some kind of brought-to-life-by-dark-magic fake the Soviets have created to test von Stalhein's loyalty or as a kind of twisted reward for a job well done? An attempt to satisfy any temptation he might have so he stays on their side? Does von Stalhein know that it's not the real Biggles? Whatever the doppelganger is, it's getting more and more violent and taking more and more from him, and the real Biggles will eventually have to defeat it.

* Von Stalhein's Soviet handlers are slowly (via magic or science) transforming him into a literal monster, and the team gradually figures out what's happening. Biggles is the only one who believes he can get through to him and either reverse the process or figure out how von Stalhein can safely live in his new form without hurting people.

* Any kind of hurt/comfort, from the extreme to the mild, with any of them as the hurt party—or mutually hurt! I love people needing to sacrifice themselves for each other to some extent, as well as things like sidelining their injuries to focus on the mission while the other person worries about them. Getting tortured in front of each other, dealing with hallucinations or delusions …. I really love every kind of h/c, and you cannot go wrong here.

I love all the layers of thoughtful unease in this movie, from the trippy horror of having your own online identity stripped away from you--to the point where you're watching yourself on-screen, doing things you've never done and saying things you've never said--to the intense creepiness of being stalked to the science fictional deepfake digital clones that don't recognize their original models to the fear of having your secrets publicly revealed to sexual anxieties and the awfulness of having people dismiss your concerns and fears. I also just really like detailed portraits of different professions, so I love seeing how Alice managed her performances and career--what kind of shows she did, her ambitions, her professional connections, her boundary-pushing branding, etc. And Alice is such a terrific protagonist: resourceful, intuitive, weird, brave, vulnerable, and fiercely devoted to her own principles and boundaries. I'm also really intrigued by Fake Lola, especially with the possibility of her developing a kind of sentience.

* I'd love a look at how Alice got started as Lola. Did she come up with her rules before she ever opened her account, or did she work them out over time? How did she develop her penchant/brand for weird, extreme shows with simulated violence? And I love how we see her keeping a record of gimmicks she's used for individual shows, judging whether or not they've been successful, so I'd love to see more of that, too: her brainstorming, her successes and failures, her adjustments. How does she start forming connections (and rivalries, in Princess's case) with the other women working on FreeGirlsLive?

* AU where there's a different explanation for what's going on with the theft of Alice's account? The part where "Lola" is taking her audience on a tour of her house is so chilling in how it just eviscerates Alice's sense of privacy and really emphasizes how wrong all this is--it feels so sinister. What if the Fake Lola were some kind of supernatural force targeting her, instead of a digital clone? Is she a ghost of some sort? A suppressed manifestation of Alice herself? Some kind of totally inhuman force that just chooses to embody itself this way for some reason?

* AU where Alice and Fake Lola manage to form some kind of alliance to take on the people behind the deepfakes or to take on abusive clients?

* Is Fake Lola the same "person" as, say, the Baby digital construct, or does she have a unique experience of the world? It could be really cool to see her either interacting with the other simulations--maybe in one of those joint shows--or otherwise being all of these constructs simultaneously.

* Fake Lola lives on as a kind of digital ghost post-deletion. Does she develop an obsession with Alice after all that, and manage to find her new account and become an avid client? And what kind of ghost is she--malevolent, sexually intrigued, neutral, friendly, all of the above simultaneously or at different stages?

* Alice rebuilds her career, refusing to be knocked down for good--but she's still working with FreeGirlsLive, and the same problem could easily happen again. What's it like trying to work her way up the ratings ladder again with that shadow always hanging over her? Does she stay focused on her shows, or does she make it part of her mission to track down and enact (possibly murderous) revenge on whoever was responsible for all this?

* The deepfake digital clones become a common, pernicious part of the internet, eventually becoming a kind of online folklore that Alice or Lola has to contend with (obviously from very different perspectives). What kind of additional spring up around or about these true tales of stolen identity? Does it get hard for even Alice and Lola to tell the difference between fake accounts and real ones, and what does that mean?

* I'm totally here for Fake Lola's POV on her part of the movie and everything going on behind the scenes, with either a seemingly human perspective--that sometimes feels a weird dissonance about everything--or a fascinatingly alien AI one. How does she start gaining awareness? What is her perspective like? Does she develop emotions and preferences? From her perspective, is Alice/Teapot horrifying for deleting her? How does she feel about her interactions with her viewers?

* Alice gets a smart house/Alexa/whatever. This is a bad idea, especially when Fake Lola gets involved (maybe Demon Seed-style). Or maybe the deepfake originators hack her house in revenge for her getting one over on them, and Lola actually manages to help her in some way?

* Medium opt-ins: I love the idea of seeing, say, Lola's channel's reaction to the Alice/Lola/Teapot exchange and the discussion that might happen afterwards (elsewhere, since Alice deletes the channel). Any kind of tone would be great. And the Reddit formats would be fantastic for post-movie fic where Alice is, say, considering suing FreeGirlsLive or volunteering to take questions about her cam-work. Or maybe Fake Lola starts out with "I'm a cam girl, AMA" and it slowly turns into "I'm fledgling AI, AMA."

Criminal Minds

Solo: Audrey Henson

Episode: The Crossing

* Essentially, I just want Audrey to get a chance to heal from the years of emotional abuse she suffered at the hands of her husband (and, to some extent, her children). Really, give me anything with Audrey getting some much-needed happiness and understanding, and I'll love it.

* Audrey's relationship with her children is so fraught, since her husband always poisoned them against her and raised them to believe that she was worthless. I'd love to see future fic where they've started to understand exactly how fucked up their home was growing up, and where they're ready to reach out to their mom and finally see things from her POV. I'm even okay with this featuring the kids more than Audrey, as long as their arc is mostly about coming to understand that the way their dad treated their mom wasn't normal or acceptable, and as long as Audrey is happy about the eventual reconciliation. Let her be vindicated in her kids' eyes!

* Anything with Audrey starting to build up some self-esteem and happiness. What's it like when she, say, gets her first apartment on the other side of all this, and gets to make small choices that are to her own tastes and not her husband's? How does she start exploring what she likes and doesn't like, and how does she come to trust her own judgment? What kinds of pleasures does she indulge in? When she has better people in her life, do they like showering her with good experiences?

* I'd like to see Audrey getting to have new relationships—platonic or, eventually, romantic—with people who like and respect her. How do they perceive her? What's it like when they realize the kind of treatment she's used to? If she gets a boyfriend or a girlfriend, what's their eventual sex life like, and how is she able to start embracing pleasure and her own desires and attractiveness?

* Audrey gets a dog or a cat. I feel like having either the reliable affection of a good dog or the warm, contented purring of a happy cat would do wonders for her, and I would love to read about her adopting an animal and building up a relationship with it.

* Audrey gets actually good therapy! This is one case where I would totally just read all about a character's therapy sessions. I'm especially interested in how Audrey might really start to grasp that her husband was fucking horrible and that she's not a failure and a mess; it would just be really interesting to read about her getting a better grip on the truth of her life.

This show's gift for combining absolutely batshit, over-the-top elements with unnerving horror and character development and interaction makes me so happy. I love how often their cases are a complex mishmash of logical explanations, unresolvable ambiguities, and hard-to-dismiss but unprovable personal experiences. Kristen, David, and Ben have such excellent rapport and chemistry; their relationship feels both lived-in and comfortable and sometimes crackling with tension. I love their different worldviews and how they keep on having respect and affection for each other throughout a lot of tense disagreements about what approach to take.

I'm also good with David/Kristen and Kristen/Andy in gen fics. (If it's David/Kristen/Ben, please just give Kristen and Andy an amicable, if potentially still sad, break-up, at least by the time they've really kicked off a relationship with each other. Likewise, I'm fine with David either reconciling his relationship with his vocation in his own way or with ceasing to be a priest, but I'd rather he not completely renounce everything; the ongoing differences in how the three of them see the world are especially cool to me.) And I think the whole ensemble is terrific, so any other significant platonic character relationships are also great.

* Casefic (or a snippet of casefic) in general would be excellent, whether the resolution is supernatural, human, or a mixture of both (or people making things look supernatural). I especially like their weirder cases and incidents that aren't demon-related, like the Haunted Girl VR game, the "Pudsy's Christmas" video, Brenda at the girl's Halloween party, David and Kristen at David's father's party, the Elevator Game, the totally-not-Amazon zombies, the "weight of the soul" experiment, the seemingly haunted road, the cursed stock tip, etc.. I'd love to see them investigating a new incident, whether the focus is on the trio, just one of them, or on Ben and Karima.

* Going off the above—there's really no kind of horror I wouldn't love to see them encountering or exploring: Haunted houses and hotels. Creepy small towns with peculiar rituals where everyone is friendly but strangers tend to disappear. Viral videos and creepypasta with suspicious origins. Past cases come back in a horrible fashion, like a return of the nurse from Room 320. Nightmares and nightmare-sharing. Dark prophetic dreams. Character Has the Creeping Sensation Things Are No Longer Real. Techno-horror. Possessed technology. The fabric of reality is thinner than we thought, and there are strange things underneath. Terrifying time loops. Creepy forests and deserts. Creepy submarines. Isolated settings: snowbound, stuck in a torrential downpour, etc. Haunted dolls. Haunted ventriloquist dummies.

* The three of them wind up soulbonded, either accidentally or intentionally. Maybe soulbonds are the weird thing in one of their cases, and they wind up "testing" whether or not they're real and getting very surprised by the results … and potentially even more surprised when they don't want to get rid of the connection once they've gotten used to it? I'd love to see them sharing each other's emotions and being really in-tune with each other and maybe needing proximity/touch/sex.

* Zombie apocalypse or any other huge, world-shattering event that leaves the characters clinging to each other as all they have left in a terrifying and risky world. Maybe they're traveling around, protecting each other and their families, and trying to do good where they can? (Post-apocalyptic work for assessors?)

* All the speed-bumps and pining and little romantic gestures that come with transitioning a three-person friendship to a romance that's made even more complicated by family and religion and maybe their combined uncertainty that this is something they could realistically do and have it work out. Plus, there's a lot of potential for different insecurities that they could be comforted for, like David feeling awkward about Ben being closer with the girls (at least at first) or Ben feeling like the David/Kristen relationship is more intense and therefore more "real" than whatever they have with him.

* In addition to regular gen and regular ship, I also really love weird, smarm-like, boundary-blurring stories for the three of them, where none of them are completely clear on exactly how they'd define their relationship and they have plausible deniability that lets Kristen slip into this while she's still married and lets David have this kind of closeness without technically breaking his vows.

* Mutual support! I just want them all showing up for each other, like at David's amazing pre-ordination "bachelor" party. Give me the three of them watching Ben's episode of the ghost-hunting show together or throwing birthday parties for each other or looking after Kristen's daughters or all being at one of David's dad's parties.

* Sex pollen! Just have them all bang in an induced haze and feel weird about it but also basically happy. Maybe this is what gets them all to consider a real relationship with each other, when they'd maybe never gotten that far before. Is it a one-off, or do Kristen and Ben persuade David that he can keep his faith, his assessor job, and his role in combating capital-E Evil without becoming/staying a priest, so he can still be with them?

* One of them stumbles into horror in their off-hours, and they have to do a private investigation of some weird phenomena that one of them has to be vulnerable enough to open up to the others about, or one of them starts remembering some repressed past horror from their years before and needs help exploring and processing it.

* Any kind of hurt/comfort, either for canonical hurts or invented ones. All three of them face such great physical and emotional whump in the episodes, and I love it, but I'd also love to see the comfort in the aftermath of some of the things they've had to deal with. I also love things like two of them thinking the third is dead (or one of them alone and thinking the other two are dead), "hurt/sick character isn't quite lucid," them risking themselves for each other, stranded in the wilderness or an isolated and hopeless setting/situation, washing hurt character's hair/helping them bathe, co-sleeping and dealing with nightmares and night terrors, and having tender sex because of injuries.

* S3 spoilers: I'd love to see some plotty exploration of where things could go from the end of season three, so I am 100% here for stories dealing with things like Leland fathering a child through a surrogate and Kristen's stolen egg, Andy's amnesia/brainwashing and new gift for seeing demons, Kurt's descent into darkness, etc. It would be great to watch the characters tackle these kinds of huge issues, investigating and trying to cope with them.

* A Softer World: I feel like they're a really good match for all the many strips about love and friendship and strangeness and conflicting emotions. I love the rhythm of the captions and the way fannish ASW works can imply so much story and feeling.(I'm good with either actual A Softer World text or you coming up with A Softer Pastiche captions.)

* Fanvid: I love all kinds of music—I've discovered a lot of great songs through fanvids, but I'm also totally good with "frequently vidded" songs, so don't worry about whether or not something gets used a lot! I feel like these three might be an especially good fit for songs that evoke a lot of pining or intimacy—or the loneliness that comes from wanting more intimacy—and also for atmospheric, horror-tinged songs full of unease, but I'm really here for anything.

* Reddit: I just feel like since it's canonical that Ben keeps getting into fights with people on the internet, "Ben's Reddit Adventures" have fantastic potential—and we've also seen David and Kristen dealing with priesthood and motherhood concerns online, so basically, the three of them should just try to run their problems and opinions by the internet and see what happens, especially since the details are so incredibly weird and specific that I feel like people would be fascinated and/or think they're making it all up. Plus, putting together touching relationship details through what they're posting on Reddit? Adorable.

Poirot - Agatha Christie

Dr. Carl Bessner/Ferguson | Lord Dawlish/Cornelia Robson

* Post-Death on the Nile, Cornelia and Dr. Bessner are married and ready to live happily and practically ever after, but they didn't expect that Ferguson would stay in touch. Maybe he's as opinionated and judgmental as ever, but it's easier to deal with him now that they're a set pair and he's the lonely hypocritical socialist aristocrat who is hanging around them like a lovesick puppy. They see him a couple times out of bemused (maybe even slightly annoyed) nostalgia, but then they find themselves actually … getting to like him? I'm here for all the weird, accidentally cozy domesticity of Ferguson hanging around all the time because he doesn't feel at home anywhere else, with OT3 shippiness starting to creep in.

* One night, Ferguson's visiting Bessner and Cornelia, and he has a few too many drinks. While they're pouring him into bed, he impulsively kisses Cornelia—well, they knew he had feelings for her, even if they might have thought he'd moved on. But then he kisses Bessner too. Now everyone has to figure out what they want to do about this ….

* Ferguson starts becoming a kinder person and putting his ideals into practice instead of just acerbic comments, and his gradual improvement is making Cornelia and Bessner warm towards him.

* Pining where Ferguson is deeply, besottedly into them but thinks that they couldn't possibly reciprocate because Cornelia is very upright and would never take another lover, and Dr. Bessner is traditional and probably remembers all the bad things Ferguson said about him …. Maybe they even start having sex, but he keeps thinking he's just their bit on the side, but eventually he finds out that the feelings are mutual.

* Outsider POV fic where either Lord Dawlish's neighbors are bewildered by the relatively plain German doctor and his wife that Dawlish keeps bringing around—who seem perfectly at home on his property!--or the Bessners' neighbors slowly working out exactly who Ferguson is even if they can't figure out what on earth he's doing there.

* Porn! I can see both Dr. Bessner and Cornelia liking to give orders for other people's own good, and Ferguson is someone who, if you scratch the surface, could be very eager to please the few people he actually cares about. Casual D/s with some commands and maybe a bit of bondage? Cornelia getting cunnilingus from both her husband and her lover? Bessner testing both Cornelia and Ferguson's reaction times and erogenous zones FOR SCIENCE?

Jacqueline de Bellefort/Linnet Doyle

* Anything darkly bittersweet and canon-compliant, where the shadow of Simon and accompanying doom hangs over everything. What were the earlier, happier days of their friendship like? Did their friendship sometimes include casual sex that they either minimized or didn't talk about? How would Jackie's passionate intensity and Linnet's selfishness and destructive "I know what's best" confidence manifest if they had a relationship with each other?

* AU where Linnet doesn't suddenly fall for Simon but for Jackie, and Simon wants Jackie to pursue her until Linnet remakes her will to leave Jackie everything? Maybe Jackie winds up genuinely loving Linnet more than Simon and scuppering the plan completely, and she and Linnet build a life together that may or may not ever involve mentioning the original murder idea. Maybe Jackie is prepared to go through with it, no matter how awful it is, but she has a hard time living with the aftermath. (I'll also take a No Homophobia AU where Linnet and Jackie can actually get married, and Simon has to pretend to be their stalker.) I don't even need a resolution—I would be just as happy with a dark snippet of Jackie/Linnet with Linnet not knowing the whole story and with Jackie herself uncertain of what's going to happen.

* AU where Jackie decides she can't go through with the plan after all, and she takes Poirot's warning and doesn't follow Simon and Linnet onto the boat. Maybe she sends an anonymous letter warning Linnet about her husband. Linnet might not believe it at the time, but then Simon dies trying to smuggle a cobra into a bed, paving the way for Jackie and Linnet to reunite as a troubled couple with genuine feelings but the world's weirdest history.

* Jealous, bitter, guilty, fraught hatesex during the stage where Linnet is slowly—she thinks—stealing Simon away from Jackie?

* I like where Poirot points out to Linnet that there must have been a moment when she felt herself falling for Simon and first trying to attract him and she chose to give into it. What if there had been an earlier moment in her life when she'd felt that with Jackie, and—because it was the 1930s—she did stifle the urge? AU where she didn't, and they had a full-blown affair/relationship that actually worked out? Alternate version of the Nile cruise where they're just there on their own holiday, enjoying the scenery with no idea that things could have unfolded some other way?

* Peggy Sue fic! Jackie shoots herself at the end of the novel … and wakes up back when she first came to ask Linnet to do her a favor and hire Simon, and she decides to make things turn out differently this time ….

Re-Animator

Daniel Cain/Herbert West

Length Opt-In: 500 minimum words per fic
Medium Opt In: Art - Book Cover
Medium Opt In: Unique Rules - A Softer World style panels
Medium Opt In: Writing - In-Universe Psychological Evaluation Report

Re-Animator is such a goofy, gory delight, and it hit me with so many unexpected feelings, especially in the first movie. It's so funny and frequently, delightfully over-the-top while still taking its characters' emotions seriously, and I love the intensity and weirdness of the Herbert-Dan relationship and would be happy with anything that gave me more of that. I really like them being mutually emotionally tied up with each other and having this bizarre loyalty kink and sense of teamwork. And their lives lend themselves to so much horror, h/c, and pining, all of which I adore.

Fandom-specific DNW: Beyond Re-Animator canon.

* More horror is enthusiastically welcome. They awaken or otherwise attract the attention of some kind of eldritch entity? They're snowbound in a haunted hotel? Quietly tragic horror where Dan slowly realizes that he's Herbert's most successful resurrection because Herbert couldn't stand to let him go even though he's come back slightly wrong? Herbert dies at the end of the first movie but sporadically makes ghostly appearances in Dan's life to protect him, bug him about working on the reagent, and just generally be in love with him? Chased and hurt by monsters and/or zombies or trying to survive in a zombie apocalypse? Herbert conquers death via chemically engineered vampirism? Scientific investigation of ghosts as a form of conquering death?

* I love the idea that Herbert succumbs to Hill's hypnosis with particular ease, which of course would disconcert him. Maybe he asks Dan to hypnotize him a few times so he can get become more adept at breaking free of that kind of control, and they wind up getting really into it was a kind of unconventional (and deeply ill-advised) D/s and/or consensual somnophilia-adjacent thing? I just really like the idea of Herbert finding that he inexplicably likes being temporarily under Dan's control and trying to justify this in very scientific terms while Dan is also grappling with it from his side, liking the protectiveness but sort of being afraid of all the power? Relatedly, I am also 100% down for this as a kind of weird trauma recovery with Hill having previously nonconned a hypnotized Herbert. (I am in general very fond of non-Dan dudes sexually menacing Herbert West, so that's always fine to include.)

* Sex pollen-like reagent fumes: a natural hazard of scientific work. I am so here for these two hooking up under a chemical influence and then having to decide what to do about it, possibly with the twist that this really does happen pretty regularly and, say, Dan catches himself being disappointed that it happened once while he was gone and Herbert just wound up jerking off the whole time.

* Any and all hurt/comfort, with either hurt, blended with any of the above prompts or on their own. Maybe one of them gets hypnotized/mind-controlled into hurting the other, resulting in a heaping helping of angst with the h/c? Maybe one of them has to perform emergency surgery on the other without any anesthesia? One of them hurt protecting the other? Injured hands mean the other requires assistance? Intense levels of protectiveness? Captured and experimented on by scientists who make Herbert look principled and reasonable in comparison? H/c-infused body horror of Herbert's experiments making them werewolves or giving them wings? Delirium or some kind of altered state makes Herbert irrationally convinced that Dan is an imposter, and Dan has to try to prove his identity and maybe keep Herbert calm until whatever's affecting him can wear off?

* Very weird slices of domestic life--in Peru, in the Bride of Re-Animator mortuary, or anywhere else. Scrambling eggs on one burner while reagent bubbles on another! Really bizarre Christmases with Herbert West! Dan trying to give him a birthday present! Lazy morning sex!

* Herbert temporarily gets amnesia, and Dan is faced with the extremely weird and awkward task of having to explain Herbert to himself. I'd also just love a glimpse of what a "blank" Herbert's personality is like without his specific memories and how he reacts to Dan, and Dan maybe guiltily having a soft spot for a more emotionally open amnesiac Herbert but also being eager to get his Herbert back …. Or if Dan gets amnesia, how on earth would Herbert explain him to himself? What would be Herbert's reaction to a Dan stripped of his Dan-ness?

* Opt-ins: Fake book cover! I'd love to see these two drawn in the style of an old-fashioned pulp novel cover, like vintage horror and science fiction paperbacks … or vintage queer lit that has them looking at each other significantly or touching in suggestive ways to clue readers into the book's content? A Softer World strip about obsessive, passionate love that's also possibly a bad idea or at least a weird idea? One that just tackles the odder side of their lives, or evokes the movie's sense of humor? (I'm good with either actual A Softer World text or you coming up with A Softer Pastiche captions.)

* Psychological evaluation: I love the idea of one or both of them undergoing some kind of psych eval in the aftermath of a mysterious incident (maybe one the psychologist doesn't even know the full, bizarre scale of?). I want to see someone confronted with their odd devotion to each other, Herbert's arrogance and manic intensity, Dan's inexplicable willingness to go along with all this, their loyalty, and their seemingly bizarre beliefs about the dead coming back to life. Are they already together? Do they know they have feelings for each other, or does the psychologist just deduce that? What can we tell about their lives from this kind of outsider POV?

Thoroughbreds

Amanda/Lily

Medium Opt-In: Writing - In-Universe Essay
Medium Opt-In: Writing - In-Universe Magazine Article

* Tim kills Mark, but Mark hangs around as a vengeful ghost, and now Amanda and Lily have to deal with a haunted house. They've gotten away with murder, but how do they handle the supernatural? Does now-dead Mark know that they're responsible for his death, or does he target Tim first? Do the girls sacrifice Tim in the hopes of buying off Mark's ghost, only for this to somehow tip Mark off to their role in his murder? Does Lily just start trying to find excuses to stay at Amanda’s? (Does she admit right away that she knows what’s happening, or does it become one more secret?) How would Amanda’s rigorous practicality match up against the paranormal? I’m good with this as either a slightly surreal/magical realist take or out-and-out horror.

* Amanda and Lily get away with murder (via the means of your choice), and murder becomes an easy solution to their problems, especially from Lily's POV. What other murders over the years does she enlist Amanda to help her with? Do they tip over into killing for pleasure? Does Amanda start wondering if Lily is someone the world would be better off without, or if they both are? Does Lily start thinking about eliminating her accomplice? Or do they develop an intense mutual loyalty despite all the death and dysfunction, and then keep choosing each other over everyone else?

* Amanda and Lily both get sent to Brookmore, as girls with severe behavioral problems, and the school is haunted, evil, terrifyingly abusive, home to sinister experiments, hired by their parents to kill them, etc. Any evil school trope you can think of, however plausible or implausible, I'm all over it.

* Historical Gothic romance AU where Lily's mom doesn't know about Amanda's history, and she hires her to be Lily's live-in companion in their gorgeous but cavernously empty house? Old-fashioned sinister Gothic goings-on, dark secrets, and a murder plot against Mark?

* Anything playing up the blend of obsession, possessiveness, attraction, manipulation, and longing between them, or anything that delves into Lily's selfishness and concern for image over substance or Amanda's supposed lack of emotion and takes those things into some weird psychological horror places.

* Lily has some kind of ability to manifest people who can help her, and she conjured Amanda into existence to express all the messiness and apathy and amorality she's tried to hide. Maybe Honeymooner was actually Lily's horse, and she first created Amanda to help her put him down? Is she secretly made out of things like twigs and clay and Lily's hair and blood, and does she need regular maintenance to keep this from showing? What's their relationship like when you add a whole twisted Frankenstein's monster angle to it? How does Amanda feel about Lily? Can they use Mark's death to make Amanda more real? Does Amanda need to feed off blood or sex?

* The girls are budding witches, and they need to kill Mark as a blood sacrifice to gain more power.

* Ambiguous, unsettling hangouts. I love the way their conversations can drift into strangeness, whether that’s Amanda teaching Lily the technique or the two of them practicing holding their breath and Amanda having to scoop Lily up off the floor of the pool when she starts drowning, and I’d love to see anything along those lines… just dark, bittersweet moments where they cross over from the ordinary into something weird that breaks social norms. And this works ridiculously well for shipping, too. That scene in the pool! I’d love to see them having a romantic/sexual moment that just sort of sneaks up on them, and maybe having a whole relationship that they don’t talk about but that just sort of exists sometimes.

* Lily secretly getting off a little on Amanda’s comparatively-unwashed scent, and liking that while not at all liking that she likes it. Amanda being as matter-of-fact about kink experimentation as she is about everything else. Fooling around in the pool or on expensive furniture, especially if there’s a taboo element to it (like it belonging to Mark). Wearing each other’s clothes. Clothed sex, wall sex, pool sex, Amanda’s weird tangents during sex, marking/biting/bruising. Possessiveness. If you want to write 10k of porn and emotional weirdness, I'm totally here for it.

* They kill Mark together, or Lily kills Mark but then has second thoughts about framing Amanda for it, and then the two of them have to go on the run together or cover up the murder some other way? I love tense road trips, so I would totally just read about the two of them bumming around the country trying to make it by without getting caught, sleeping in cheap hotels that Lily hates, and figuring out what to do for money. And I’d also love to see them trying to manage a different kind of story about what happened--would they try to frame someone else? Say that it was self-defense? How would the aftermath play out? Do they wind up getting used to murder as a problem-solving strategy and kill more people along the way?

* Post-canon developments. Did Lily really throw the letter away without reading it? I’d love to see future-fic where Amanda finally comes home and the two of them reunite in some form--all the uncertainty and instability on both sides, the huge difference between their lives, etc. I’m good with either eventual tentative happiness here, bittersweetness, ambiguity, reunion sex, one of them killing the other, or all of the above.

* Instead of murdering Mark, Amanda and Lily eventually decide to fake Lily's murder and frame him for it before the two of them go on the run. Please give me all the dark scheming and even darker comedy and the two of them ruining his life while escaping their own.

* Mark’s murder seems perfectly calibrated to become at least a brief media sensation, and I’d love to see any “found documents" post-canon fic made up of courtroom testimony, news reports, social media discussion, reviews of the inevitable Lifetime movie, etc., or fic that featured Amanda and/or Lily reacting to the way the case explodes and to possible speculation about the nature of their relationship. Or AU versions of the case, like if Amanda and Lily go on a crime spree! I'm really opting into any kind of meta framework you want here, so go wild.

The Twilight Zone

Mrs. Bronson & Norma
Mrs. Bronson/Norma

Episode: "The Midnight Sun"

* I would love stories from either the hotter world or the colder world, if you want to treat the hotter world as real. Or I'm good with stories set in the hotter world with the creeping awareness that it's all a dream creeping in. Or both worlds being real in parallel universes. Or anything. Basically, both the hotter world and the colder world are excellent, atmospheric apocalypses that I would love to see more of.

* I love their weary tenderness and a sense of being alone together at the end of the world. Taking care of each other, looking for each other, making gestures both big and small. I'm interested in all the little domestic details of life in the slow-but-steady apocalypse and this depopulated New York: whether they ever risk going outside for any real period of time, whether they eventually try to leave the building after all, how they try to stay warm (or cool) for as long as they can.

* Norma painting for Mrs. Bronson, making different hot or cold landscapes. Trying to keep the paint from freezing or melting. Norma convincing Mrs. Bronson to pose for her, clothed or nude. Mrs. Bronson learning to paint or draw too.

* Extremely bittersweet get-together fic where they both know that there's only a limited window of survival time.

* The two of them are somehow able to alternate between the hot and cold worlds, but while that gives them a little bit of comfort, it can't save them: they're always just going from one apocalypse to another. But they somehow managed to make that be enough.

* They're saved by another kind of Twilight Zone happening, like stepping into one of Norma's landscapes and having it become real around them or somehow finding that no matter how cold or hot it gets, they don't die, and they've become something otherworldly. Or there's some last-chance spaceship leaving in search of another world, and the two of them manage to get on it.

* Totally optional intra-Twilight Zone crossover: Death comes for them, and it's either Murray Hamilton's Death from "One for the Angels" or Robert Redford's Mr. Death from "Nothing in the Dark."

Solo: Janet Tyler
Walter Smith/Janet Tyler

Episode: "Eye of the Beholder"

* I've always wanted to see more of the Community of Uggos. I'd love to see Janet starting to settle in there and, as Walter promises her, beginning to feel at home and genuinely loved for the first time in her life. I would be absolutely delighted with 10k of just Janet adjusting to her new life, dealing with everything from living on a kind of remote ugliness leper colony--one that might be in a completely different kind of climate or at a completely different level of tech/wealth than she's used to, in addition to everything else--to slowly finding her own beauty standards adjusting to developing connections and relationships.

* Maybe the new community is basically ignored by the larger dystopian society, so they aren't just relieved of the burden of being constantly scorned as hideous, they also get--even if they don't notice it right away--more opportunities to be themselves without the constant pressure to conform in every way. I'd love to see Janet trying out different options that she couldn't have explored in the outside world, from "different kinds of fashion" to "oh, lesbian sex is an option here."

* Janet eventually becoming one of the people who go to the hospitals to collect the patients who have had the maximum number of failed corrective surgeries, and how she deals with that and feels about it. Is she ever able to reconnect a little with the people from her last hospital? I'm always intrigued by the doctor who veers close to treason because he sympathizes with her so much.

* I'd also love to see Walter's POV on Janet, gen or ship, as she starts to settle in--it could be really cool to see some of her journey through his eyes.

* Janet/Walter specifically! Is a sweet slow burn? What draws them to each other? Does he actually find her attractive right away, since he's been with his own people for so long, or do they both have to get used to each other for a while before a spark really kindles? I'm also into seeing how Janet thinks of him physically at first--presumably in very unflattering terms based on very different norms--and how that might change as time goes by, but how her new beauty standards still might not match ours and her perspective still might feel alien there.

Solo: Marsha White
WB: "The After Hours" Mannequins' Department Store Life
WB: "The After Hours" Mannequins' Time as Humans
WB: Sex Among "The After Hours" Mannequins

Episode: "The After Hours"

* Please give me any and all mannequin rumspringas. Is Marsha the first mannequin who has forgotten herself in the outside world, or does that happen often enough that it's a recognized hazard? Where do they go while they're living outside the department store? Do they all use the same rotating apartment? What are some pleasures they especially enjoy as humans that they don't get to have as mannequins?

* Someone forms a relationship with a mannequin while the mannequin is taking their turn outside. Do they find out the truth? Does it become a kind of weird long-distance relationship where the other person just waits, year after year, for their mannequin's visit? Is it a bittersweet, star-crossed love where the human eventually gets married to someone else, or is a kind of touching "well, they're making it work" relationship?

* What is their life like in the department store(s)? Can any of the employees or customers ever see them move? Do they have more freedom and mobility on the ninth floor, or is it just that they have more privacy? Is that floor technically real but just for storage, or is everyone being 100% literal when they say it doesn't exist, and only the mannequins can actually access it? Do the mannequins have opinions about the clothes they model or where they stand in the store?

* Mannequin POV, just to capture the uncanniness of it. One of my favorite details is how they reflexively fall back into stationary poses when they're not actively interacting with each other, and I'd love to see more distinctly alien details like that from their perspective.

* Mannequin sex. I really ship Marsha/Scorching Hot Saleswoman Mannequin, whom you can name whatever you like, but I'm also good with original mannequin characters of any gender combination. I just want to know if the mannequins fuck, and if so, how.
